No gendered pronouns day

The main event I've been worried about - Aisling's immunisation - has been canceled. Phew. I have a hard enough time dealing with medical professionals without adding in weirdly stilted language.

I've been thinking the last few days about how this will work. And I've realised while I'm all about singular they when it's a non-specified person, it feels somehow rude to me to use they to refer to someone whose gender is known.

Yes, I realised that too - and the more "personal" your relationship the ruder it is. I was sort of relieved that the health visitor cancelled for today as they already think I'm odd.

Negotiating other parents at the playpark was pretty difficult too.

Eh. A lot of activism is rude.

I think we should all decide on a gender-neutral pronoun, some made-up word, and just start using it. If "ginormous" can be added to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, our made-up word can too!
